Exposure

What if we create with the audience in mind?
Who is this crowd?
Is this an anxiety fuel?
Is this an ego centric piece? is this a pleasing piece? is it a shy piece?
Why should we forget about audience when creating? is it even possible?
Should we solve all of our social issues before creating?

Sit down and create, who are you thinking about?
is it easier if you were in a remote country where no one knows you? do you still want to do it?

How long can you wait in silence before someone makes you show face?

The whole purpose of a piece is to be shown, sold, it revolves around exposure and audience; maybe about currency or ego. These concepts become central to the pieces. How are we considering these concepts in the materiality, form, color, ideas we construct? Are we trying to make them about being well received? are we working towards the opposite of reception? What are these rules we decide upon?

I have this eloquent, rational man hanged by his feet. He is not allowed to talk, think, put his hands on my work. He has all the tools to speak convincing truths and show off for me. He knows just what to decide upon, the materials, forms, colors, ideas that will sell me off. But I tied him up. Shut him up. But I am looking at myself in silence and not know what to create about. Seems this man hanged me by my feet upside down and will convince me I am this narcissistic selfish artist liar.

What is a rematch exhibition? What is a comeback show? What does it mean when someone thinks you stole their ideas, their thunder, their space? Can ideas be stolen in an art piece? Are we looking for the same ideas? Are we digging for that success recipe? Does it show on the piece? Is the show about success? Is the show about recipes? Are they instructions to be followed but not copied? Can a recipe last for how long?

Think anxious about the show, is the show about anxiety? If it is, how do you build, show, talk, write, discuss, curate it?
What is all really about if we are trying to show it, hang it, show face for it, make it important?

Thinking about envy, anxiety, exposure, money, ego, theft, jealousy fantasies when creating.
